Flooring may be nailed or glued down over wood sub-floors or glued directly to concrete sub-floors.

 

Before installing, Flooring should be allowed to acclimatize on site at least 72 hours and make sure your sub-floor surfaces is level, clean, dry and free of dirt, wax, oil, and paint.     Both directly glued down or mailed down should leaving 1/4" expansion space from base plate or wall. Ensure starter rows are firmly in place by wedging or face nailing. As with all strip careful selection of joints, color and grain. matched pieces will enhance the visual effect.

    Another important point must be emphasized. Because bamboo is a natural fiber, variations in color naturally occur. Each box should be inspected for differences in color and staggered throughout the floor.

    After installation, Like any other natural wood flooring, bamboo flooring has to be taken care of:

     1. Flooring should not be soaked with water. If it is exposed to large amounts of water, dry it immediately to avoid swelling and open the window of let fresh air in.

2. When the bamboo floor is dirty, you should wipe with a damp cloth or mop with methylated spirits.      3. Don't walk on the floor with gritty dirty shoes. It is fast way to wear the flooring finish.      4. Heavy items such as furniture, piano,etc. must use protectors on their standing.

 

     5. Keep shoe heels in good upkeep, any unprotected shoe bottoms will dent the floor.

     6. Stubborn stains on the polyurethane surface can be removed with mineral turpentine.

7. Harsh scratches that occur on the surface of polyurethane finish can influence beauty of floor, using the following method of treatment. You will need a putty stick of the appropriate colour for your floor called "Miro Wax" (you can purchase it at most large hardware stores). This putty stick is used like a crayon to draw over the scratch, and then using a rag and a small amount of mineral turpentine simply rub off the excess wax. The result should be a considerable reduction in the appearance of the scratch.
